It is a local architectural style, which was famous at the beginning of the 20<sup>th<\/sup> century in the vicinity of Warsaw. The humorous name of the style was coined by Konstanty Ildefons Ga\u0142czy\u0144ski, a Polish poet. The name \u201c\u015awidermajer\u201d was used to describe holiday wooden buildings located at the \u015awider river, resembling Swiss chalets in style. Before the Second World War started, a great number of Varsovians used to spend vacation on the terraces of \u201c\u015awidermajer\u201d buildings picturesquely located in pine forests. Nowadays, we can see newly-build houses inspired by the style of \u201c\u015awidermajer\u201d buildings, where investors are not afraid to combine a historic shape with a modern garage.
