In Świdermajer style
Do you know what Świdermajer is? It is a local architectural style, which was famous at the beginning of the 20th century in the vicinity of Warsaw. The humorous name of the style was coined by Konstanty Ildefons Gałczyński, a Polish poet. The name “Świdermajer” was used to describe holiday wooden buildings located at the Świder river, resembling Swiss chalets in style. Before the Second World War started, a great number of Varsovians used to spend vacation on the terraces of “Świdermajer” buildings picturesquely located in pine forests. Nowadays, we can see newly-build houses inspired by the style of “Świdermajer” buildings, where investors are not afraid to combine a historic shape with a modern garage. Just see how a VERDOOR gate in the “golden oak” color matches the beautiful wooden architecture of Józefów near Warsaw.
